Reflections on Pechalucha

Last week we used Pechalucha format to show our ideas and solutions about project4. This is the first time I have introduced my idea in this format, so after the presentation, my tutor gave me some very useful suggestions, I learned a lot.

Pechalucha is a speech mode that allows the audience to quickly understand your ideas and plans in a short time. It requires the speaker to use simple pictures and short explanations to grab the audience’s attention, which means that the speaker has to repeat practice and prepare.

Because I have practiced many times before, I was fairly fluent in explaining during the lecture. But I made an error in the content of the ppt. Although tutors reminded us on the teams what content should be prepared for each page, I still got it wrong. I showed the final outwork to be done, even specific to the app interface. Later, after the guidance of my mentor, I learned that Pechalucha should focus on what problems, research, and my initial thoughts were found. Just like Jackie said, ‘idea, idea, idea’. For a good design work, ideas are always the most important, the final presentation method is not the most important and it is not the issue that should be considered at this stage.

I have deeply reflected on this. When I start a project in the future, I must first focus on research and ideas, instead of thinking about how outwork is displayed at the beginning. This is the correct idea for design.
